The wooden boats will once again star in the Classic Balearic Islands
The competition, one of the most important of the classic sailing circuit in the Mediterranean, will be held from August 13 to 17 under the organization of Club de Mar-Mallorca.
The regatta Illes Balears Clàssics, which will be held between July 13 and 17, has kicked off with the opening this February of the registration period that will last until June 1 for all classes.
The event, organized by Club de Mar-Mallorca, celebrates its thirtieth edition this year and expects, once again, the arrival at its facilities of legendary sailboats. In this sense, it plans to accommodate more than 30 boats, becoming, in mid-August, the meeting point and reference point for classic sailing in Spain and the Mediterranean.
The regatta maintains the four days of competition that were established for the first time last year at the request of the shipowners, who wanted to enjoy one more day of the regattas in the magnificent setting that is the Bay of Palma.
The Classic Balearic Islands is part, for the second year, of the most important classic sailing circuit in the Mediterranean, The Mediterranean Champions Cup, together with competitions such as Els Régates Royales de Cannes, Go-li d'Epoca Imperia, Argentario Sailing Week, Els Voiles d'Antíbol or Vela Clàssica Menorca de Maó.
The categories invited to participate in the regatta are: Classics, Epoca, RI Classics, Spirit of Tradition and Great Boats. In addition, there will be a special section, called Presència, which will host the vintage and classic boats of more than 50 years old, which will be present at the club enjoying the event, without participating in the tests.
The Balearic Islands race is also part of the International Mediterranean Championship, organized by the CIM and the XV Mare Nostrum Classic Trophy - Spanish Classic Sailing Cup 2025.
