The General Directorate of Ports and Maritime Transport imposed 163 sanctions in 2024, 89 of which were serious.

This year, the Balearic Government has intensified the fight against illegal nautical charters, reaching a historical record of sanctions for a total of 462,200 euros.

This amount is the result of 153 sanctioning proceedings initiated after inspections carried out by the General Directorate of Ports and Maritime Transport.

Until December 12, 149 files had been processed related to violations in the rental of boats and another four for irregularities in the maritime transport regulations, of which 64 corresponded to minor violations and 89 to serious violations.

This control aims to combat illegal activities in the recreational boating sector.

The regional executive ensures that these measures are part of a broader plan to guarantee legality and safety in nautical activities in the Balearic Islands.
